Maria Southard

Maria P. Southard grew up in the tropical rain forest of Bolivia, South America, with both of her parents influencing her creativity. In 1981, she graduated from UAG in Guadalajara, Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and moved to the United States shortly after graduation. While assisting in the design of her husband’s medical office, she realized that her analytical skills and creativity went hand-in-hand in order to achieve the function and aesthetics needed when designing fine interior spaces. Maria then earned her second degree, a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and Interior Design at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, Florida. She began her work under the guidance of Samuel Malone, ASID LIC Interior Designer and has since had the opportunity to work in different areas of design. Some include freelance for Interior Designers and Builders, generating CAD architectural drawings, and designing custom cabinetry and fireplaces.

She also experienced a more artistic aspect of design while working at Robb & Stucky Interiors in Tampa, creating exquisite interiors with their selection of interior finishes, furnishings, and accessories.
